Sponsor spotlight: enhanced
We are proud to highlight Enhanced, a long-standing partner of The Boo Charity, whose generosity and commitment have made a lasting impact on our Nyamache Life Skills Centre.
Enhanced has sponsored the computer studies course since July 2019, providing monthly donations to cover teaching and student admissions, as well as supplying new computers to ensure students have access to modern technology. Their support has been instrumental in giving students the skills they need to succeed in education and employment.

Our partnership
Enhanced’s connection with Boo began long before their course sponsorship. After Simon White’s first visit to Kenya in 2014, and to coincide with Enhanced’s 20th anniversary, they ran a fundraising campaign called 20/20, asking 20 clients to each raise £1,000. Together, they raised nearly £30,000, which was used to expand Nyamache Life Skills Centre to include Computer Studies, Metalwork, and Agribusiness.
Over the years, Enhanced’s involvement has gone far beyond sponsorship. Their team, led by Simon White (Head of Kenyan Operations) and Jeremy Gill (Treasurer), has been deeply involved as volunteers and trustees, dedicating time to governance, fundraising, and community engagement. Their support includes fundraising events like the Poole to Paris cycle, golf days, and charity balls, as well as donations of prizes and resources for our events.
Nyamache Life Skills Centre
The Life Skills Centre in Nyamache provides quality education to rural Kenya, covering vocational, agricultural, and micro-business skills, with students graduating with nationally recognised certificates. Beyond academics, students benefit from empowerment classes and mentorship, building confidence, self-respect, and practical life skills in health, hygiene, and wellbeing.
The Centre also fosters employment and entrepreneurship, having supported 100+ independent businesses. Many graduates return to mentor future students, creating a lasting cycle of opportunity.
The Computer and Business Program
The computer and business program has become one of the most popular courses at Nyamache Life Skills Centre, providing essential skills for students and the wider community. Due to high demand, we now offer both 6-month and 1-year courses, along with paid evening classes that generate additional income for the Centre.
In Kenya, technology is just as important as anywhere else, but access is limited. This program equips students with the knowledge to safely navigate the internet, use various software packages, and run independent businesses. Within the local community, “cyber shops” are highly sought-after enterprises. Many households lack electricity or internet access, so these shops provide essential services, allowing people to check emails, submit forms, print documents, and more - helping the community stay connected and supporting local livelihoods.
This course not only gives students practical skills but also empowers them to create businesses that meet real community needs, driving economic growth and opportunity in rural Kenya.

Giving Opportunity: Real recievingStories
Busire (Class of 2015) now runs a thriving computer services shop, helping the community with email, online forms, printing, and passport submissions. He has diversified his offerings and supports his wife and extended family, showing the long-term impact of the Centre.

Victor, who graduated last year, has cerebral palsy and comes from a community with limited support for disabilities. The Life Skills Centre provided a safe, nurturing space where he could persevere. With our support, he launched a small business with a computer and printer, while his father sold a cow to help fund a shop and internet access. Victor’s business is still growing, and his whole family is grateful for the opportunity.
